After serving as a Student Apprentice with G. N. Haden & Sons, London he joined the Johannesburg Branch of Air Conditioning & Engineering in 1969 as a Contract Engineer.   The Company was a subsidiary company of Haden International, UK.   He remained with AC & E until 1976 when the operation was curtailed by the parent Company.

During this period he was responsible for large air conditioning projects including OK Bazaars, Eloff St., Jhb; the Greatermans Flagship Store, President St., Jhb; and commenced the University Teaching Hospital, Bloemfontein.

From the period 1976 to 1979 he was employed by Cape Air Conditioning in Johannesburg as Chief Engineer and Klimatrol (SA) (Pty) Ltd. as a Director of an associate company.   During this period he was responsible for projects which included the auxiliary bay air conditioning of Matla & Duva Power Stations.

Environmental Installation Services (Pty) Ltd. was then formed in 1979.

From 1977 Mr. Kelly has served on the committee of the Johannesburg Branch of the South African Institute of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (SAIRAC) and was Centre Chairman from 1986 – 1988 and 1999/2000.   He also serves on the NEC of the South African Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (SARACCA) and has represented the Association on the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Council of South Africa (ACRICSA) of which he was also Chairman.   He has been President of SARACCA and Gauteng Branch Chairman.

Mr Keller served an electro/technical apprenticeship in Switzerland and qualified as a precision toolmaker.   On arrival in South Africa in 1968 he joined Bells Controls as a Controls Technician undertaking pneumatic control installations.

In 1970 he was employed by Klimatrol (SA) (Pty) Ltd. and was responsible for the design and installation of associated electrical and control installations together with the commissioning thereof for all air conditioning works carried out by the Company.

Major projects for which he was responsible at Klimatrol included SASOL 1&2 for Deutche Babcock, Matla and Duva Power Stations and the assembly and commissioning of 1 000 kW centrifugal chillers at Vaal Reefs Gold Mining Co.

R. WILLIAMS (Project Manager)







Mr Williams has been in the air conditioning industry since 1996. He started out as a draughtsman working for VAH Consulting Engineers and then moved to Environmental Installation Services in 1999 where he started out as a Junior Engineer. Mr Williams has grown from being a junior engineer to now managing multiple major contracts for EIS.
